چکیده

Abstract Biodiesel is a reliable and promising replacement of fossil diesel. It stable, less toxic can be produced from sustainable resources, including variety raw materials. Currently, the most widely used are vegetable oils (edible nonedible), due to their availability. The present paper considers potential obtaining fatty acid ethyl esters (FAEE) corn oil, which byproduct bioethanol production process. ultimate outcome would definitely increase profitability initial biodiesel process was implemented in two steps, high content free acids obtained oil. first step includes an acid-catalyzed esterification second comprises alkali-catalyzed transesterification receive FAEE. Two different catalysts (sulfuric p-toluene sulfonic acid) were utilized compared each other process, order cope with number material. A comprehensive qualitative quantitative analysis both feedstock performed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method. characterized by significantly lower cloud point number.

Biodiesel Production from High Free Fatty Acid Feed Stocks through Transesterification

Transesterification is one of the most popular methods to decrease the viscosity of vegetable oils to produce biodiesel. It is the reaction of vegetable oil/ fats with an alcohol to give fatty acid alkyl esters in the presence of a catalyst with glycerol as by product. A catalyst is used to increase the rate of reaction and yield. The reaction is very much affected by the free fatty acids conte...

Enhanced removal of Free Fatty Acid from waste oil for Biodiesel production

Introduction The possibility of using vegetable oils as fuel has been documented in the beginning of diesel engines. Biodiesel produced from waste oil by trans-esterification process can be used as a substitute for diesel in internal combustion engines [1]. Biodiesel can be produced by the transesterifcation of vegetable oils [2] such as soyabean oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil etc. [3]. Trans...

Development and Utilization of a Pair of Sol-Gel Entrapped Lipases for Biodiesel Production from High Free Fatty Acid Oils

Esterification and transesterification of high free fatty acid (FFA) oils to fatty acid alkyl ester (FAAE) by sol-gel entrapped lipase B from Candida antarctica (CalB) and lipase from Burkholderia cepacia were investigated. The optimal conditions for the esterification catalyzed by the immobilized CalB were determined to be 50 °C, 1.7:1 molar ratio of methanol to fatty acid, and 0.36 g of water...
